Wir
sollten in Hobart in Tasmanien landen und das haben wir auch getan. Für eine
halbe Stunde haben wir australischen Boden betreten dürfen und wurden durch den
australischen Immigrationsprozess geschleust. Anschließend musste jeder
einzelne sofort wieder an Bord zurückkehren.
Unsere
Kreuzfahrt, so wie sie einmal geplant war, ist damit vorüber. Von nun an werden
Entscheidungen nur noch von Tag zu Tag getroffen, je nachdem wie sich die
Nachrichtenlage verändert. In den letzten Tagen war es das Bestreben der
Kreuzfahrtdirektion Häfen zu finden, die noch bereit waren, uns an Land zu
lassen, da wir nachweislich keine Coronainfektion an Bord haben. Das hat sich
nun geändert, nun ist das wichtigste und einzige Ziel, alle an Bord gesund und
wohlbehalten nach Europa zurückzubringen. Das heißt, dass von jetzt

Verpflegung an Bord zu nehmen, aber wir werden nicht an Land gehen können.
Natürlich ist das sehr schade, und es ist auch nicht, was wir uns unter einer
Reise um die Welt vorgestellt hatten. Aber auf der anderen Seite sind wir hier
auf dem Schiff sicherer als fast irgendwo anders, solange wir den Virus nicht
an Bord bekommen. Schließlich werden wir doch die Erde umrundet und dabei viele
wunderbare Dinge gesehen haben. Und wenn wir schließlich wieder in Europa
landen, wird sich die Situation hoffentlich stabilisiert haben und es wird ein
gewisses Maß an Organisation geben. Deshalb werden wir an Bord bleiben und wir
hoffen, dass alles gut geht. UND wir werden an diesem Blog weiterschreiben,
denn nun beginnt ein interessantes sozialpsychologisches Experiment, in dem wir
alle hier an Bord die Rolle der Mäuse übernehmen. So hört bitte nicht auf, uns
zu folgen, und lasst uns wissen, wie es Euch geht, durch Kommentare oder per

We should have been there, and we
were, for about half an hour. The Australian Authorities insisted that each and
every person from our ship went through Australian immigration. But afterwards
each and everyone had to return to the ship immediately.
The cruise, as it was originally
planned, is over. From now on decisions will be taken from day to day, as the
news’ situation changes. Under the growing cloud of the Coronavirus the aim
until yesterday was to find ports which would allow us to go ashore, as we had
no cases of the virus on board. Now the main and only aim of the captain and
the company is to keep everyone on board safe and healthy and to bring us back
to Europe. So from now on nobody is allowed to come on board. Nobody! Everyone,
who is on board and wants to leave, can do so and is helped to find a way home.
But they cannot return to the ship. We had made friends with people who left
the ship in Wellington, because they wanted to spend a few days on the New
Zealand South Island and then join the ship again in Sydney. They will not be
allowed back on board. From midnight on they can’t even enter Australia without
going into quarantine for two weeks. So they are stuck in New Zealand for the
time being.
The ship will have technical stops
in different harbours to refill and to receive supplies, but we will not be
able to go ashore as planned. That of course is very sad and not what we
thought we would do on a cruise around the world. On the other side, as long as
the ship stays virus-free, for us this is the safest place. We will in the end
have completed our circumnavigation of the world and we will have seen lots and
lots of amazing places. And when we eventually will come back to Europe in a
few weeks’ time, the situation there might have stabilised and will be better organised.
This is why we will stay on board and hope for the best. AND we will continue
with our blog, as now we are starting an interesting social and psychological
experiment in which we all on board play the parts of the mice. So please don’t
